Abstract
ObjectiveTo investigate the efficacy and safety of stored and recovered autotransfusion in orthopedic non-tumor elective surgery.
MethodsA retrospective analysis was conducted on 40 cases of elective surgery diagnosed as non-tumor diseases in the orthopedic department of the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University from July 2021 to June 2022, who were divided into an experimental group and a control group, with 20 cases in each group. There were 8 males and 12 females in the experimental group, aged (60.75±23.26) years; there were 12 males and 8 females in the control group, aged (57.00±16.95) years. The experimental group received stored and recovered autotransfusion, while the control group received allogeneic blood transfusion. The differences in hemoglobin (Hb), hematocrit (HCT), platelet (PLT), prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), fibrinogen (FIB), blood transfusion volume, total hospital stay, postoperative hospital stay, and transfusion-related adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. t test and χ2 test were used.
ResultsThere were no statistically significant differences in the Hb, HCT, PLT, APTT, PT, FIB, blood transfusion volume, total hospital stay, and postoperative hospital stay between the experimental group and the control group (all P>0.05).
ConclusionCompared with allogeneic blood transfusion, stored and recovered autotransfusion is safe and effective in orthopedic elective surgery, which is of great significance to strengthen the patients' blood management during perioperative period and ensure the safety of surgery and clinical blood transfusion.
